    Questions people ask

What does the Extend connector do in Claude?

Parse, extract, classify, and split documents from chat: pull fields, tables, and line items out of PDFs, images, Office files, and spreadsheets, identify document types, break bundles into separate documents, and fill PDF forms. Build and test reusable extractors, classifiers, and workflows on real documents, then run them at scale in your Extend workspace.

    Is the Extend connector official?

It is made by Extend and carries the Anthropic verified mark in Anthropic’s directory. This site is independent and lists it from the official directory.

What is the Extend MCP server URL?

https://mcp.extend.ai/mcp. It is a remote MCP server hosted at mcp.extend.ai. Paste it into Claude as a custom connector, or add it to Claude Code with: claude mcp add --transport http extend https://mcp.extend.ai/mcp

How do I add Extend to Claude Code?

Run "claude mcp add --transport http extend https://mcp.extend.ai/mcp" in your terminal, then start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose extend and sign in to Extend. Add "--scope user" to make it available in every project.

Do I need a Extend account?

Yes. You sign in to Extend when you connect it, and Claude works through that account.

Can Claude change or delete my Extend data?

Judging by tool names, 42 of its 86 tools can change data, including 10 that delete or remove things. The other 39 only read. In Claude you can choose, per tool, whether Claude must ask before using it.
