    Questions people ask

What does the Control Plane connector do in Claude?

Control Plane runs containerized apps across AWS, GCP, Azure, Oracle Cloud, and your own hardware as one platform. Describe an app and Claude writes, builds, and deploys it to a live HTTPS URL, or builds one from your GitHub or GitLab repository. For an app that keeps records, files, or sign-ins, it plans the database, storage, and sign-in with you before writing any code. Give an app a custom domain, add PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, or Redis, and let it autoscale. Diagnose failures from logs, events, metrics, and traces, then restart, roll back, or promote a workload, and compare used against reserved CPU and memory to find the over-provisioned workloads inflating your cloud bill. Workloads reach AWS, GCP, and Azure through your registered cloud accounts without stored keys, and you can install services from the Template Catalog and export your setup to Terraform. The connector acts only on the organizations you grant when you connect, and secret values are generated by Control Plane or entered by you in the Control Plane Console, never in the chat.

Is the Control Plane connector official?

It is made by Control Plane Corporation and carries the Anthropic verified mark in Anthropic’s directory. This site is independent and lists it from the official directory.

What is the Control Plane MCP server URL?

https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp. It is a remote MCP server hosted at mcp.cpln.io. Paste it into Claude as a custom connector, or add it to Claude Code with: claude mcp add --transport http control-plane https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp

How do I add Control Plane to Claude Code?

Run "claude mcp add --transport http control-plane https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp" in your terminal, then start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose control-plane and sign in to Control Plane. Add "--scope user" to make it available in every project.

Do I need a Control Plane account?

Yes. You sign in to Control Plane when you connect it, and Claude works through that account.

Can Claude change or delete my Control Plane data?

Judging by tool names, 32 of its 71 tools can change data, including 4 that delete or remove things. The other 29 only read. In Claude you can choose, per tool, whether Claude must ask before using it.
